Jailbreakme.com just went live about a week ago, and I finally decided to jailbreak my iPod.
For the last few months, I have been very hesitant to jailbreak it simply because Cydia apps were always too unstable and I do not have enough time to tinker with my iPod, or constantly restore it if I make a mistake.
Anyway, I’ve had mine jailbroken for about around a week or so now. Honestly, I really would not recommend it. I mean I love being able to install whatever I want for completely free, but the stability of Cydia apps is terrible. On my first gen iPod touch running 3.1.3, the entire device is performing probably 85% of what it was before the jailbreak. However, on the same note, the jailbreak has given me abilities that are extremely useful and productive.
Have any of you jailbroken your iPods, iPhones, iPads, etc. with jailbreakme.com?
If so, what do you think of it?
Also, what Cydia apps are you using?

hey andrew, wondering if you thought it would be a good idea to jailbreak the iphone 4, what your thoughts were on that.
It’s totally up to you. Jailbreaking does allow for some pretty cool extra stuff, such as tethering to your computer or getting apps for free. The only real problem is the stability. Jailbreaking can make your phone slower and unstable at times.
If you are willing to take a bit of a risk and do a little research on what is good to install, I would go for the jailbreak.
Personally, I would not jailbreak it.

You can’t go wrong with jailbreaking. I’ve had no issues with stability
This post was written based on the fact that I jailbroke my ipod touch first gen. After seeing how a jailbroken iPod Touch 4 behaved, I would say go ahead with the jailbreak, but keep in mind you may need to research what is compatable and what is not. What really irritates me is when people complain about the instability or irratic behavior of their device after they jailbroke it. They need to understand that there is a risk with apps and hacks downloaded from Cydia.
